Ever wanted to make a film, the way you want to make it, but had no access to professional equipment, expertise or personnel? Well, want no more.

To help re-launch The Film Lab, Northamptonshire’s apex film club, at its newfound home The Picturedrome, we’re teaming up with Film Lab founder Russell Hayworth to launch a fantastic new competition that will not only help filmmakers realize their vision, but will take their completed work to a critical audience.

Serious about your ideas, your vision, maximizing your filmmaking opportunities? Then we want to hear from you.

Send in your 2 – 4 page, industry-formatted script for a short film and over the coming months we’ll draw up a shortlist of our favourites before picking an overall winner. As keen film aficionados you’ll no doubt be all too aware as to the correct layout of a script, but just in case you need a refresher here’s a useful link with a few tips: http://www.simplyscripts.com/WR_format.html

The brief is completely open, so long as it’s punchy, original and most importantly entertaining. Oh, and one last thing -- PERSONALITY. We love it. The winner gets to make their film, their way with our help, so don’t be afraid to shock us, scare us, thrill us. If you believe you’re the next Lynch, Kubrick, Cronenberg, Tarantino -- don’t be afraid to flaunt it in your writing.

If your script is the lucky one chosen, we at Aspect Ratio will provide you with all the production equipment you require and fully support you throughout the post-production process, marketing and even sending your film off to festivals and screenings to ensure it gets seen.
